During its second voyeur on the Red Planet, Mars Global Surveyor managed to capture some of the best images of the Red Planet we\’ve ever been allowed to see.
The probe officially returned to Earth on September 11, 1997, and with it came an influx of images of ancient rivers and meteorite boxes. But, a certain image was the talk of the town for all theorists, ufologists and researchers.
It doesn\’t matter if you believed in aliens before this incident or not, because most people converted in an instant looking at this image.
As you can see, it appears to be the top of a building on Mars or the remains of what used to be a building on the surface of Mars. What we do know for sure is the fact that this is unnatural because it is very symmetrical to say the least.
NASA has confirmed the authenticity of this image, stating that it is a real image that was taken on the surface of the Red Planet.
Shortly after this was made public to the community, however, the Mars Global Surveyor crashed and burned on November 2, 2006 due to technical difficulties during its third mission to Mars. January 7th came with an even more devastating announcement as the show was canceled entirely.
